The Region of Thessaly, the Department of Planning and Regional Development and the Department of Civil Engineering, School of Engineering, University of Thessaly, organise a pan-hellenic scientific conference entitled "1st Thessaly Environmental Conference" which will take place in Skiathos from 8 to 10 September 2012.
The 1st Thessaly Environmental Conference aims to present up-to-date scientific research and work carried out by experts in the fields of protection and restoration of the environment. The Conference aims to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas among the scientific community, teachers, non-governmental organisations, stakeholders and local authorities. In particular, the speakers will present the results of their research on environmental planning and management, waste management, the protection of ecosystems and mountain and rural areas, on environmental awareness and sustainable development, with special emphasis on issues facing the area of Thessaly.
